Americans Love Freedom...and their Media

The U.S. Census Bureau has confirmed what I have learned this past semester...we Americans love the media.

The San Francisco Chronicle searched through the report and discovered in 2007 American adults and adolescents will spend 3,158 hours looking on the internet, watching televison, reading newspapers and listening to music on media devices. They will also spend an average of $937 on the media.

The report also said adults will spend 1 week reading the newspaper next year. In 2005, 97 million adults used the internet to find their news. Also, 13 million users created a blog (including me!)

As a journalism major this tells me two things. 1), in the interest of my future career I should keep on blogging and 2) I should probably sign up for JOUR 163 next semester.
